Our oldest high-density Pinot Noir block features 12 different clones, grown in red ferrosol volcanic soils. This wine undergoes natural fermentation with 100% whole berries, then matures in French oak barriques for 18 months before bottling in November 2018, unfined and unfiltered.
On the nose, expect abundant sweet red fruits, anise, sous bois, and graphite. The palate reveals intense red fruits, charcuterie, blood plums, and morello cherry intertwined with Chinese five spice and remarkable minerality. Fine, persistent chalky tannins coat the mouth, creating a powerful wine of great length and tension, perfect for ageing.
