Pinot Noir made from fruit coming from selected vineyards at Northburn and Calvert vineyards in Central Otago. Since there is no winery there, the fruit picked early in the morning is carried to the winery in Marlborough with refrigerated trucks. Garnet in colour fading to brick tones. Shows more dried fruit character than fresh berry notes with medlar, iodine and forest floor aromas joined on the palate by strawberry marmelade and rosehip flavours. Ripe and concentrated with rounded tannins, more firm than the standard Pinot bottling. Rich, evolved and long lasting.
