Most people would be unaware that Cabernet Sauvignon has been planted in the Barossa since at least 1888. Barossa Cabernets are rich, full flavoured wines and are a perfect fit into the Rockford stable. The fruit for this wine comes predominantly from vineyards along Rifle Range Road. The ‘Biscayâ€?soil of these vineyards is heavy clay, lending the wine its full flavour and earthy tones. The perfect wine to hide in your cellar, for as long as you are able.
Critic tasting note: "A beautiful wine whose plum fruit is juicy and pure. Crème brûlée rounds the fruit out on the palate, and lingers on the nose, where there's also some cocoa. Balanced, restrained and well behaved, with the capacity to make some noise. Absolutely drinkable now, but one of those wines that you'll just be sad to see go." - 94/100, Wine Enthusiast
