Its classic role of providing some mid-palate flesh in a Bordeaux blend is self-limiting. Here the wine has all the structure and texture one could wish for, and that elusive pillowy fruit flavour that wants to be described as confit or jammy before you recoil in horror at using such words for Wendouree.
