Formerly Gaja Dagromis was labeled as Gaja Conteisa Cerequio Gromis.
This Barolo from the renowned Gaja winery is a splendid example of the Nebbiolo grape's potential in the Piedmont region of Italy. The Dagromis expresses a bouquet of red cherries, roses, and tar, with subtle hints of spice. On the palate, it unveils a complex structure, with tight tannins and high acidity, offering flavors of red fruits, leather, and earthy notes. This wine is destined for the cellar and promises to evolve gracefully over the years, making it a valuable addition to any collection.
Critic tasting note: "Made from Nebbiolo on young vines in the townships of La Morra and Serralunga where the soil is a fine mixture of marl, lime and clay. The wine ages first 12 months in barriques and then another 12 months in tonneaux. This is a rich and ambitious Barolo which has a ruby-red color and a garnet edge. The bouquet has broad and intact aromas of violet, anise, licorice and cherry. The mouthfeel is bold, full and vigorous with clear fruity and floral flavors and a distinct freshness upheld by fine tannins that give the wine both character and elegance. Bottles produced: 6,000"
