This delightful Chardonnay made by industry veteran and legend Geoff Weaver was sourced from 36 year old vines, wild fermented and matured on lees for 12 months in French oak barriques. Brilliant pale straw colour with green tinged edges and a watery hue. Delightful white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey scents sail through the olfactory senses followed by trailing notes of crème brulee, citrusy nougat and light spicy cashew. Rich peach, nectarine and dried honey flavours combine a fleshy feel with a brimming freshness. Lively citrusy nougat, crème brulee and spice characters underscore a lengthy finish. Vivid acidity with an aftertaste of great persistence. Drink over the next 4-5 years. Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviewsâ€? From Geoff Weaver's Lenswood vineyard, wild fermented then left on lees for 12 months in French barriques, 50% new. Ripe peachy notes to begin, then more complex elements show their wares on the palate in leesy savoury notes and a crisp apple-like acidity that's long and even. This has a lot more to offer in the coming decade. Drink by 2030. 95 points Tony Love â€?James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
