The demand for Mornington Peninsula grapes has exceeded supply in recent years, so we had accepted that a Pinot project from the region would be on hold—until an unexpected opportunity came up.
A medley of berry flavors features cherry and fresh strawberry, complemented by plum and a touch of cinnamon spice. It offers a soft, juicy mouthfeel and is perfect for enjoying now.
ABV: 13.50%
Nose: berry fruits with a gentle sweet note. Palate: nice fruit richness, hints of cherry, medium soft tannins, overall true to varietal and region. Best Drinking: a solid quaffing-level pinot from a 5-Star winemaker in a legendary region. This pinot spent more time on oak than typical, creating intrigue, complexity and balance. Line priced with the Shiraz and Chardonnay. Food Match: the fruit density lends itself to lamb or sausage meats, mushroom dishes, and light to medium sauces.
