2021 Kaesler WOMS Shiraz - Cabernet 750ml

The Kaesler WOMS is an iconic Australian blend, combining Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon to create a complex, rich, and classic dry red wine known as the "Weapon of Mass Seduction" (WOMS). Crafted in exceptional vintages only, the 2021 release blends 63% Shiraz and 37% Cabernet Sauvignon from select old vine parcels, renowned for their intense concentration and fruit depth. Aged in 60% new French Oak for 18 months before bottling.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2021 vintage was exceptional, marked by cool, dry conditions in Barossa that yielded outstanding reds and whites. Optimal growing conditions and good yields resulted in a memorable harvest, showcasing a wide range of aromas and flavors. The reds are characterized by soft, supple tannins, ensuring enjoyable drinking in their youth and promising rewards with careful aging. Overall, the vintage was rated a perfect 10/10 for quality.

WINEMAKING
Hand-harvested and destemmed, the grapes underwent a day of settling before fermentation. Pump-overs were performed as needed over 8-9 days for Shiraz and 15 days for Cabernet, ensuring optimal color and tannin extraction. Following free run juice removal, the wine underwent "the draining" over 8-10 hours. Malolactic fermentation was completed in new French oak barrels, highlighting the meticulous craftsmanship and regional diversity of this exceptional wine.
