2022 Moss Wood Semillon 750ml

Brilliant pale straw colour with a glimmer of green to the edges and a watery hue. Lifted pear and lime aromas mix with green apple, fresh herb, subtle bees wax notes and spice. Concentrated and textural the palate is awash with lime, green apple, spicy pear and fig flavours. Subtle infusions of fresh herbs, ginger and stony mineral characters lie underneath. Finishes fresh with plenty of depth and a long weighty aftertaste that’s quite moreish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

You hear quite a lot about Moss Wood’s great cabernets and chardonnay, and as a result this little guy can slip under the radar. But it remains one of my favourite wines in the Moss Wood portfolio. And it shows how good semillon can be in Margs. This has got some weight but it’s held with control by the dab hand of a lemon citrus acid tang. Very long finish. One of the best I can recall.
