The 2023 vintage boasts a delightful aroma of lemon, citrus flowers, spice, fig, and a hint of nectarine. Its palate is full, fresh, harmonious, creamy, and lingering, with a lovely weight and smoothness. It will improve for at least three years and remain enjoyable beyond that.
This is the second wine produced from our nearly 30-year-old vineyard in the Macedon Ranges. The Glenhope vineyard, located at an altitude of 450m on granite soil at the region's northern end, is where it all begins. The wine is crafted using the same method as our Bindi Chardonnays: destemmed berries go directly into the press, and the juice is transferred straight from the tray into barrels, with about 30% being new small French oak. Fermentation happens naturally without added yeast, and the wine stays on all lees for ten months until just before bottling.
