AROMA
Characterised by its remarkable concentration, this intense and structured wine has lifted perfume.
PALATE
Layers of flavour, dark fruits, spice and a long, seamless, persistent finish.
VINIFICATION
Our five individual blocks and their various sections were handled separately in the winery and vintage 2020 created 18 unique batches of wine. The grapes were fermented in tradi tional open fermenters after gentle destemming, with 70% of all batches receiving whole bunches. The wines were then pressed and transferred into 500L French Oak puncheons (20% new) for malolactic fermentation �some aged in traditional 6250L cuves. Racked twice during maturation, bottled February 2021.
VINTAGE NOTES
The 2020 vintage in Heathcote was excellent, producing a classic Heathcote Estate Shiraz. A dry and cold winter, cool spring and mild summer has produced a remarkable wine with great intensity and extract.
