Aged in oak casks for at least 16 years, this highly rated single malt Scotch whisky has the massive peat-smoke flavor synonymous with the southern Islay region of Scotland. Best enjoyed from a traditional whisky glass, neat or with a little still water. Room-temperature water can bring out the hidden aromas and flavors of the whisky, making it more mellow and easy to drink.
This has been Lagavulin’s principal expression for more than 30 years. Iodine, rich peat, and caramel on the early nose, with sherry, sea salt, and charcuterie. The oily, briny palate offers peat and a medicinal note, along with black tea, Seville orange, toffee, cinnamon, and a hint of smoked fish. Peat embers and hot tar in the lengthy, spicy finish. Deeply satisfying!

Distillery
Lagavulin is a Scottish distillery, found on the southern shore of the Inner Hebridean island of Islay. Its single malt whisky is renowned for its robust peatiness and maritime character with strong iodine overtones. The name is Scots Gaelic for "the hollow by the mill".
Lagavulin is a powerfully flavored malt and the house style prompts flavor descriptors like seaweed, brine, medicine, and tar. It is a major component of the White Horse whisky blend and is owned by Diageo's United Distillers subsidiary.
