Pronounced liquorice, cassis and black plum aromas are overlaid by prominent vanillin oak, wood smoke, fennel and pepper. Thick, rich and powerful with liqueur like concentration the palate features flavours of liquorice, blackberries and black cherries which meld into smoky vanillin oak, spicy fennel and pepper. A high octane finish imparts some heat which maybe above some tasters level of tolerance. Sturdy yet largely concealed tannins provide structure. Long blackberry, liquorice, black cherry, vanillin oak, fennel and spicy pepper aftertaste.
